History Founded in 1951 as Bank- und Verwaltungs AG. Name changed to Arab Bank (Overseas) Ltd. in 1962, when it was acquired by Arab Bank Group, and to Arab Bank (Switzerland) Ltd. in 1982. Current name adopted in 1997, with "Ltd." added in 2008. Geneva branch opened in 1964. The parent bank was founded by Abdul-Hamid Shoman in Jerusalem in 1930 and moved its head office to Jordan in 1950.
