History Baring Brothers of the UK opened Geneva office in 1985, managed by Eric Sturzda. Obtained bank licence in 1989. When the parent company collapsed in 1995, ING Bank of the Netherlands and Sturdza acquired the Swiss bank in a 70%/30% partnership and kept the name Banque Baring Brothers (Suisse). ING sold its 70% to Sturzda and current name adopted in 2005.
