History Founded in 1963 by private Swiss investor. ENI of Italy bought 70% in 1966 and sold it to UBS in 1974. Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) acquired 85% in 1976, reducing the UBS stake to 15%. (BCCI was closed by regulators in 1991 for engaging in fraud and money laundering). Çukurova Group acquired 85% and UBS stake cut to 5.5% in 1991. Çukurova bought out minority shareholders in 1996 and provided Sfr20 million cash injection.
