History Founded in 1958 as Uto Bank. Deutsche Apotheker- und Aerztebank, Düsseldorf, sold its 20% interest to WGZ-Bank, Düsseldorf in 1998, increasing WGZ's holding to 80%. WGZ and the other shareholders (Jean-Paul Kimche with 10% and Loreto AG/the Federmann family of Tel Aviv with 10%) agreed to sell their shares to Jacob Safra Holding AG in 1999. Current name adopted in 2000. Acquired Monaco bank from Banca del Gottardo in 2005.
